For several years I have wanted to take the time to ride the STP, 
well this year it's happening!!
This 206-mile bicycle ride is the largest multi-day bicycle event in the Pacific Northwest with up to 8,000 participants riding from Seattle to Portland in one or two days every year! You will roll out of Seattle with the sun rising over Lake Washington, and along the way you will enjoy open views of Mount Rainier and Mount Saint Helens. You will also cruise through the scenic valleys, forests, and farmlands of western Washington and Oregon. Come ride what Bicycling Magazine has listed as one of the best cycling events in the nation!

So excited, drivers beware of cyclists.

BIKE MS: Deception Pass Classic 2020

Bike MS: Deception Pass Classic 2020 Through giving we receive, be it through time, effort or money. I've signed up for Bike MS a fundraising ride that changes the world for people affected by multiple sclerosis. I'm going the distance with my training and commitment, and I hope I can count on your support as I prepare for this incredible experience. I've set an ambitious goal because I know that with support from people like you, I can get there. MS is a devastating, unpredictable disease. But money raised through Bike MS fuels cutting-edge MS research and critical services to ensure people affected by MS have the resources they need to live their best lives. This is a phenomenal organization, and cause all participants leave the event feeling elevated. There is so much appreciation verbalized throughout the whole event. We participated last year but I did not post much about it...I dont like the whole fundraising idea on social media...but I will tell you participating and helping with this is extremely moving and life changjng!! If you cannot donate I would urge you to volunteer it is positive and uplifting, it's amazing when we give what we receive.💗💗💗

Cycle for Survival is an event that is put on by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center the world’s oldest and largest private cancer center — has devoted more than 130 years to exceptional patient care, innovative research, and outstanding educational programs.) The event was held in Seattle, WA. I was fortunate to be able to spin and help uplift the battle for survival. The experience left an imprint on my Spirit. If you find a cause where you can put your wheels to use by all means push across any personal and physical boundaries that you think limit what you can give and get out there and Handle Bar Your Sh!t. A gigantic thank you and namaste to all the corporate sponsors such as Zillow, Pinterest, New Balance and Smart Water to name a few that donated to this fabulous event. BARS2BOOBS what exactly is this?

BARS2BOOBS, What am I talking about? Bars2boobs is basically information and experiences for all trail riders. Any time you see something on my blog that specifies BARS2BOOBS it will have to do with events, interesting trail riding topics, races, cool trails, races that all have to do with trail riding. When I hit a pump track, that's what I think of because my bars literally go up to my boobs at times, thus Bars2Boobs.

Biking Hiking Trekking, let's do this

Trail above Rattle Snake Ridge heading up via Grand Prospect toward East Ridge, a beautiful hike. When you are winter hiking here are a few safety tips that have been very helpful for me: Alway wear your winter hiking boots, preferably waterproof, warm wool or other socks & maybe an extra pair. Bring along your ice treks or snowshoes. Water, if you are going on a day hike I recommend an Osprey hydration pack. I use an Osprey Siskin 8, holds plenty of water for hikes round trip of approx 15 miles give or take. Food, I take protein bars, nuts, dehydrated fruit and some form of meat (pepperoni, beef jerky, dried salmon) or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are one of my favs. Mylar blanket or something similar just incase. Headlamp or flashlight, hiking in the winter high density forest areas are a lot darker in the winter, and can be quite dark in early afternoon. On a recent hike up Mount Si I made the mistake of not bringing my headlamp and wished I had. Compass, emergency whistle, & I like to bring my pepper spray and a pocket knife. Firstaide kit, this has come in very handy for me. Hiking poles are nice for a lot of people, I am not a fan of them but good to have incase of a sprain.
