To help you start with peace, love and joy
every month we will work on a specific yoga pose. The yoga poses will encourage balance, blood flow, calmness, courage and fulfillment. For our first yoga pose we are going with Lord of the Dance Pose,
Natarajasana.
- You will begin in Tadasana or Mountain Pose
- Shift your weight to your right foot
- Lift your left heel toward your left butt cheek as you bend your knee
- Press the head of your right thigh bone back, deep into the hip joint
- Pull the knee cap up to keep the standing leg straight and strong.
- Try to keep your torso upright
- Reach back with your left hand and grab the outside of your left foot or ankle
- Actively lift your pubis toward your naval, and at the same time press your tailbone to in the direction of the floor
- Lift your left foot upward, away form the floor
- Extend the left thigh behind you and parallel to the floor
- Stretch your right arm forward, parallel to the floor
